Southwest Arkansas Development Council, Inc., (SWADC), is a private non-profit Community Action Agency founded as a direct result of President Lyndon B. Johnson’s War on Poverty and the Economic Opportunity Act. Since 1969, SWADC has worked to alleviate poverty and create empowerment opportunities that improve the lives and living conditions of low-income individuals and their families, thereby strengthening their communities using our services, programs and partnerships.
With headquarters in Texarkana, Arkansas, Southwest Arkansas Development Council is proud to serve the residents of Calhoun, Columbia, Dallas, Hempstead, Howard, Lafayette, Little River, Miller, Nevada, Ouachita, and Sevier counties.
